Application of Music Therapy in Special Education for i-CT Framework

This bachelor thesis describes development of virtual guitar application for the purposes of music therapy in environment of special education for mentally challenged. Hence this thesis deals with issues of development of similarly focused applications, an analysis of some already existing applications of this kind and a design, implementation of a new application. The resulting application follows on design principles of " Computer as Therapy " project and it is based on i-CT Framework simplifying design and development of applications in indicated environment. The development is focused on multi-platform development with support for operating system Android and iOS. The verification of the application has been done in environment of mentally challenged people.
Application for Sign Language Education for People with Mental Handicap

The thesis describes creation and development of an application for sign language education for people with mental handicap. The thesis describes basic principles of the theory of computer therapy, which is the basis for the application, as well as a target group of users. The application is developed for the operation systems Android and iOS, which are briefly introduced in this work. Then there is an analysis of some already existing applications of this kind, a design of a new application, and implementation of the design. At the end, there is a feedback by three application users with mental handicap and their lectors, and there is also a plan for the further extension of the application proposed.
The church community as an inclusive environment for the disabled (people with mental disabilities)

The present thesis, entitled Church Communities as Inclusive Environments for People with Disabilities, seeks to map the possibilities of integration and inclusion of people with disabilities into church communities. The necessary introduction is followed by a brief description of intellectual disability so that it becomes clear why these persons are disabled, its definition, diagnosis and manifestations. The work continues with a reflection on the treatment of persons with disabilities in Scripture and a characterization of the new discipline of "disability theology". The thesis then seeks to describe the approach of church communities to persons with disabilities (dignity, spirituality, pastoral care, diaconia), their needs, and the possibilities for integration and inclusion in these communities, as well as the problems of inclusion in church communities. The final part of the thesis discusses research on the issue of intellectual disability and its relationship to church organisations and the actual qualitative research using a phenomenological approach in the form of a semi-structured interview.
Application of selected elements of music therapy provided to users of residential social services

The thesis deals with music therapy and its history. Furthermore, it introduces the objectives, methods and various types of music therapy. It describes the course od music therapy process. In the next part, it deals with description of the practical activities the music therapy sessions for elderly and for people with mental disabilities are proposed.
Current conception of the self-defence groups in Czech Republik.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of self-defense of adults with intellectual disabilities. Its aim is to find out the attitude of social service providers working with a group of adults with intellectual disabilities in the Czech Republic towards self-defense groups. The work is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical. The first chapter in the theoretical part is focused on the definition of the concept of intellectual disability together with the classification and rights of persons with intellectual disabilities. The second chapter provides a definition of the concept of self-defense, its history and types of self-defense groups. The practical part of the thesis defines the set goal of the bachelor's thesis and hypotheses are set. The chosen procedure for the research survey is also described. A questionnaire survey method was used to collect the necessary data. The research group consists of respondents in the position of a manager at social service providers working with a group of adults with intellectual disabilities. Based on the information obtained, the current attitudes of social service providers in the Czech Republic towards self-advocacy groups are ascertained. In the last chapter of the empirical part of the bachelor's thesis, all the results of the questionnaire survey are summarized and the established hypotheses are evaluated.
Issues in Communication of Medical Staff and Persons with Mental Disabilities

This thesis focuses on the issue of intercommunucation between medical personnel and persons with mental disabilities. The aim is to explore various communication approaches and attitudes of medical personnel towards mentally disabled patients, especially during medical examinations, via qualitative research. The literary overview section describes theoretical starting points with emphasis on mentally disabled persons' communication, as well as levels of professionality in relationships towards them. The empirical section deals with research, conducted in a form of seventeen interviews with six mentally disabled participants, five medical personnel and six social workers, who accompany their clients for medical appointments. The findings were processed by using a method of thematic analysis. It concludes, that despite improvements in approaches and attitudes of medics towards mental patients, discrimination is still prevalent, especially in cases of hospitalization and new registration with doctors. The research also shows, that approximately half of medical personnel patronise their adult patients with mental disabilities and puts them into juvenile role. Employment and Study Opportunities among People with Intellectual Disability in area of Domažlice region

This Bachelor thesis is focused on the support of people with intellectual disability living in the area of Domažlice district (Pilsen Region). The thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part is research of specialized literature and it contains fundamental information about the life of people with intellectual disability. The first chapter defines essential terms concerning intellectual disability and it characterizes people with this disability. The second chapter is focused on the education of people with intellectual handicap and it is divided into subchapters, concerning preschool, primary and secondary education. Then follows the third chapter with attention to the employment of people with intellectual disability. It is mainly focused on the right to employment and its importance. This chapter also contains specific options of the support for people with intellectual disability in the labour market. The role of social media in the life of people with mental ilnesses

We do not find much information in Czech literature about the influence of social media on a person with a intellectual disability. At the same time, the media can greatly influence the integration of people with disabilities, especially in countries where they have been excluded from public life for long time. This diploma thesis focuses on people with mental disabilities, who live in social care facilities. So my main goal is to describe the aims and motivations which lead them to social media. Research of the diploma thesis aims to clarify several questions about the extent and manner of social media use by people with intellectual disabilities. It could be assumed that the environment will greatly influence habits related to the consumption of social media, therefor is research focused exclusively only on those, whose home is a social care institution or sheltered housing. Introduction of this work is devoted to literature's research on a related topic. The main tasks of this diploma thesis are: typology of motivations that bring people with mental disabilities to social media, to describe how they think about this motivation and finally to describe their habits and experiences associated with the use of social media.
